About us

Ben Marlin

Ben joined the U.S. Marines at 17 and served honorably for five years. After saving diligently during his service, he transitioned to civilian life and began working as a real estate agent in Texas. Encouraged by a mentor, Ben purchased a small store in South San Antonio while renting out his condo to support the venture.

Just six months in, the 2008 financial crash hit hard. Customers disappeared, cash flow dried up, and his tenant stopped paying rent. Within a year and a half, Ben lost everything he had worked for and returned to California, where he met and married his wonderful wife, Edna.

Determined to rebuild, Ben pursued a Business Management degree at ITT Technical Institute. Though the school closed before he could complete his bachelor's, he earned his associate degree and discovered a strong interest in accounting. Encouraged by his professors and peers, Ben always dreamed of starting a bookkeeping business. But the time wasn’t right. Eventually when it became clear Ben needed to be available to help Edna, friends and family recommended they start an online business. Ben redirected his focus toward bookkeeping and financial services.

Today, Ben and Edna co-own a growing bookkeeping business dedicated to serving real estate investors. He holds multiple QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certifications and brings firsthand experience in real estate, entrepreneurship, and resilience to every client relationship. Ben looks forward to continuing his education and helping others grow their businesses with clarity and confidence.

Edna Marlin

Edna immigrated to the United States from Mexico at 16, arriving without any knowledge of English. She lived with a church friend, worked hard to learn the language, and soon found work at a home daycare through a family connection. Edna thrived in that environment and went on to earn an associate degree in Early Childhood Development, which further strengthened her language skills and deepened her passion for working with children.

After nearly a decade in early childhood education, Edna reconnected with Ben through their church community. They married, and together they launched a Spanish language program for young children—a venture that began with Edna enrolling 10 families at a school dinner event. Ben immediately saw her natural ability in marketing and relationship-building.

When unexpected health issues arose, Edna was no longer able to work in childcare, and Ben took on the role of caregiver. The couple needed a flexible career path that could accommodate their unique situation. With encouragement from family and friends, they launched a bookkeeping business tailored to real estate investors.

Edna dove headfirst into the world of accounting. She mastered double-entry bookkeeping and accrual accounting, earned her QuickBooks Online certification, and even studied Ben’s college accounting textbooks. She continues to expand her knowledge in marketing and advertising to help grow their business. Today, Edna works full-time alongside Ben, bringing warmth, determination, and a deep care for clients to everything she does.
